The AMI Montessori Trainees of Nagaland Institute of Language Studies and Research (NILSR) performed a show titled ‘The Singing Bee’ at Children’s Christian School, Kohima (CCS) on April 23.

The show was targeted to enable teachers to gain a deeper understanding on how music is a powerful ally in the journey of language acquisition. Its ability to engage a child’s emotions, enhance memory, and create cultural connections makes it an invaluable resource for language learners.

Currently, NILSR has ten trainees undergoing intensive training under its AMI Montessori program. A method of their teaching post completion will incorporate music into the language learning routine, to guide children in their path to multilingualism.

The show was followed by a session of introducing English Phonemes (phonics) to the teachers of CCS, where they were trained to incorporate language learning aids in their classrooms.
