After a prolonged wait since 2018, the prestigious title of Miss Khiamniungan was held at Noklak village under the theme ‘ Empowering Feminity’. The beauty pageant was organised by Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam (Khiamniungan Women’s Organisation).
19-year-old Thongkoi L.S from Thang village was crowned Miss Khiamniungan 2023 at the glamorous finale of Miss Khiamniungan 2023 held at Noklak Village on Friday night. Thongkoi also won the Miss Perfect 10 title in the tough contest.

Jime K, 21-year-old from Pathso village was declared the 1st runners up while Kushe. T while 24-year-old from Kingniu village got the 2nd runners-up.
Thongkoi won the hearts of the judges and the spectators through her intelligent answer during the Q&A round of the Top 5. She said that an educated woman is someone who can empower the woman next to her.
“Degrading ourselves by looking down at someone” is the main issue today, she said in her answer.
Parading cultural unity in the context of Eastern Nagas, Thongkoi said that conquering new milestones together and find really common ground and appreciate each other though they are not of the same tribe.
Thongkoi was awarded a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a gift hamper, while the first runners-up and the second runners-up received a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and 20,000 and gift hampers respectively.
Shijang of Nokhu village won the Miss Congeniality title, Thongkoi of Thang Village won Miss Perfect 10 title, Best Ramp walk was given to Houm Shiu from Thangnokyan village. The Sub-title winners were also awarded Rs 3,000 each and gift hampers.
In the first Traditional Round, the contestants showcased the rich traditional attires of their villages, Ethnic round was showcased where the contestants wore a blend of modern and traditional design wear followed by the grand evening gown.
The contestants were choreographed by Mongshai Longshe, 2013 Miss Khiamniungan, 1st Runner-up.
The Panel of judges were Arenkaba, PGT, GHSS Noklak, Wanle, PGT, GHSS Noklak and Ruth, GT, GHS Noklak . The event was hosted by Kongpe. P and Chongkoi. K.
