Three inmates from Wokha District Jail escaped in the early hours on Thursday. Additional Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Soriso has informed that the inmates escaped when they were under judicial custody.

The escapees were booked under various Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections and have been identified as Shishumo Tungoe, Chenio Ngullie and Rikhyo Ngullie.

The Addl. SP also said that the inmates escaped around 2:00 am on Thursday from Wokha Jail and that a case has been registered at Wokha Police Station against them. He also mentioned that efforts were on to rearrest the absconding inmates.
