The Wokha District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on 6 April 2023, the meeting was chaired by Advisor for Agriculture and Chairman DPDB Wokha, Mhathung Yanthan; MLA Mhonbemo Lotha and MLA Achumbemo Kikon also attended the meeting, a DIPR report stated.
Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan said that Government is very serious about good governance and bringing change to the State. He mentioned the need to give efforts to make District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) a very effective and systematic institution as all important policies and programs pertaining to districts are discussed in this platform and urged all officers to give their best service in order to bring about change and to benefit the district in the planning and developmental process.
Yanthan also urged all departments and allied agencies to come out with a common approach and systematic planning in regard to government programs and policies for a progressive society. He also suggested that aspirational villages for the four constituencies in the district should be continued, where he named the following villages N/Longidang village under 37 Tyui A/C, Humtso under 38 Wokha A/C, Aree under 39 Sanis A/C and Mekokla village under 40 Bhandari A/C are selected for the next phase.

MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe assured his best for the benefit of the district and also said that he will work in coordination with the other elected representatives in the district and also urged all departments to extend support in implementing the government policies and programmes.
MLA Achumbemo Kikon suggested revamping Kyong Academy and also renaming Government Higher Secondary School Wokha to Mhondamo Memorial Higher Secondary School after Mhondamo, the first Graduate among the Lotha and the First Education Minister of the State. Kikon also suggested that the status of the Bhandari Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board be recommended, and the board after deliberation approved to recommend to the higher authority.
Supplementing on the issue raised by Advisor Yanthan in regard to Human-Elephant conflict in the district, Kikon stated that the department concerned should come out with preventive measures to ensure that this issue is addressed as the majority of the people in the rural areas and villagers depend on farming for their sustainability.
