Tizit Town Council conducts sensitize community on Dengue, safe sanitation practices

Tizit: 5 in Tizit tests positive for dengue, referred to other hospitals for proper treatment

As part of the Indian Swachhata League 2.0, the Tizit Town Council organized an insightful program on dengue awareness and the importance of safe sanitation practices, DIPR informed. The event took place at the ADC’s conference hall, Tizit, with a strong emphasis on educating the community about dengue prevention.

Dr Sanjib Chowdhary, Medical Officer, Community Health Centre, Tizit shed light on dengue, a viral infection transmitted through the bite of female Aedes mosquitoes. He elaborated on the various symptoms of dengue, which include high fever, headache, joint pain, and rashes. In his presentation, he provided a comprehensive overview of the different types of dengue viruses and stressed the importance of following preventive measures to stay safe from dengue infection. He noted that five individuals in Tizit have tested positive for dengue and have been referred to other hospitals for proper treatment.

SDO(C) Tizit, Tumben P. Tsanglao urged all residents to maintain a well-functioning drainage system. He emphasized the need for continued efforts to eliminate mosquito breeding habitats by ensuring that there is no stagnant water in and around their homes. Additionally, Tsanglao underscored the importance of using mosquito nets and repellents for added protection.

The sensitization program was attended by leaders of civil societies, Ward Presidents, GBs (Gaon Burahs), DBs, and officials representing various government departments and the Armed forces stationed in Tizit.
