Nightlife in Wokha town was set abuzz on Friday evening with the beginning of the Lotha Tokhu Emong Mini Hornbill Festival 2022 Night Carnival which will go on till 7 November at the Local Ground.
Er Chonronthung Ezung, Executive Engineer Power Department Wokha, declared the Night Carnival open at the inaugural function as the special guest.
In his address, he wished the Lotha community prosperity on the occasion of Tokhu Emong festival. Er. Ezung said that Tokhu Emong signifies forgiveness, love, and strengthening of relationships and therefore urged the community to forgive one another on the occasion.
Around a hundred stalls has been put up at the ground by different Self-Help Groups (SHGs), government departments, and local entrepreneurs, selling varieties of products. There are also several food joints for visitors to enjoy.
Apart from the shopping, the visitors at the Lotha Tokhu Emong Mini Hornbill Festival 2022 Night Carnival will also be entertained by presentations of various indigenous games, folk songs and dances, and modern Lotha songs on all four nights.
The final day will be graced by MLA, Imkong L Imchen.
