Noklak: Khulio BLF is highest block under Noklak district covering all SHGs

The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Department of Rural Development launched the Khulio Block Level Federation (Khulio BLF), Noklak Block, today at White Hll, Noklak Village with the vision “to strive towards better society by enabling them to access rights and entitlement, supporting them to improve their livelihoods, empowering women with their skills, knowledge and competence, help them to become financially independent which will in turn raise the standard of their family and a developed community.”

S. Chillio Khiamniungan, Block Program Manager (BPM), highlighted that Khulio BLF was formed on 26th August 2022 and that today was its officially launch. He said that the name Khulio is taken after the highest mountain that lies under Choklangan, Noklak district, signifying that BLF is the highest organization in the block level. It aims not just to empower personally but the society in general, he added.

Thrikyuse Sangtam, Assistant District Program Manager (ADPM), stressed on importance of BLF structure and its beneficial effects. He informed that Khulio BLF is the highest block under Noklak district covering all the Self Help Group (SHGs). Sangtam also briefed on the importance of certain set of rules and regulations of the block, adding that the launch will be followed by strict training.

Emphasising the necessity of financial transaction system, Sangtam urged that women should learn banking norms in order to uplift the lives of women and to get entitlement from the government schemes. He also requested the State Bank of India (SBI) Noklak branch to assist the beneficiaries in all the possible manner.

Vikhoto Richa, NCS, SDO (Civil), Noklak urged the SHGs not only to depend on government funding, rather be self reliant and become the backbone of the economy set up. He also advised them to know the significance of trainings given by the departments. Richa also urged the department to make sure to take up follow-up action. Acknowledging that banking documentation is a challenge for many people, Richa advised the beneficiaries to be cautious while arranging their documents.

Biu, Agriculture Department, Noklak highlighted the initiatives taken up by the Department under Noklak district. He also encouraged the SHGs to come forward for any kinds of assistance required from the Department.

State Bank of India (SBI) highlighted the important schemes launched by the government and other Banking procedures and expressed optimism that the mission will be successful.

Earlier, the launch programme of Khulio Block Level Federation (Khulio BLF) was chaired by Chongtie, Accountant cum Data Entry Operator (DEO), invocation was pronounced by Longkoi, Youth Pastor, Baptist Church Thang, Status of BLF by S. Pusom, AC-IBCB (Area Co-ordinator, Institution Builiding Capacity Building), Special number by Khiamjat, Village Level Organization, Vote of thanks by Pham, President, BLF and benediction by President, Hachou-e VLO.
