Toyota to present Hornbill Music Festival for the fourth year

Toyota today officially announced its continued partnership with the Hornbill Music Festival, marking the fourth consecutive year of its association.

The announcement was made during a press briefing at at the Okusa Toyota Showroom, New Secretariat Road, Kohima, led by Y Vikheho Swu, Managing Director of Okusa Automobiles Pvt. Ltd along with Toyota’s Brand Ambassador Ruopfuzhano Whiso and Toyota KIRLOSKAR MOTOR representative.

Addressing the media, Managing Director, Y Vikheho Swu expressed appreciation to the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister, Dr Neiphiu Rio, and acknowledged the significant role of TaFMA in elevating the state’s music industry.

He noted that the Hornbill Festival not only highlights Naga arts, culture, food, and creativity but has also become a powerful platform for music. “TaFMA has played a major role in promoting Naga musicians to be part of the world community through this festival,” Swu said, adding that Toyota is honored to present the festival for the fourth time.

He further emphasized Toyota’s commitment to promoting Naga youth, especially in the field of music, with the festival offering opportunities for local artists to interact with international performers.
Swu also highlighted the role of Toyota Ki at Kisama Heritage Village, a space where TaFMA hosts interactions between Naga artists and international musicians.

Swu also informed that during the festival, Toyota will also display its flagship vehicles, including the Furfile, Land Cruiser, and Camry, creating another avenue for engagement with youth and festival visitors.

Toyota Brand Ambassador, Ruopfuzhano Whiso also expressed her excitement for her second year representing the brand. She shared her journey with Toyota and the success of their previous campaigns during last year’s festival.
“We did a lot of fun activities—giveaways of the Toyota Hornbill Shawl, T-shirts with proceeds going to charity, and engaging videos. The response was amazing with over 500,000 views on Instagram alone,” she said.

Whiso also announced that international performance group Drum Tao will be returning this year, and she looks forward to interacting with them once again. She highlighted Toyota’s contribution to giving Naga youth global visibility through digital platforms.

“The views we get online are a huge opportunity for the Naga youth to reach a bigger crowd. The stage is yours—are you ready to step up?” she said.

Both the Managing Director and the Brand Ambassador expressed optimism that Naga youth would continue to gain global exposure as more international artists visit the state and as Naga talents increasingly participate in global events.
