A one-day training on People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) for Preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs) was conducted in Kiphire on Monday.
The training was organised by the Project for Creating Model GP Clusters (PCMGPs) under National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), in collaboration with District Skill Committee Kiphire and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) Kiphire Block at DC’s conference Hall.
The training in Kiphire emphasised on preparing a quality GPDP through a participatory process involving all stakeholders in the decision-making process which will ideally match people’s needs and priorities with the available resources.
NRLM took up a session on Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP), which addresses the vulnerabilities of the poor and marginalized people and their livelihood opportunities and the importance of integrating poverty plan into the GPDP.
The village council and its functionaries were also exhorted on preparing a GPDP in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) and the broad nine themes by adopting the Whole-of- Government and Whole-of-Society approach thus ensuring that the promise of 2030 agenda to “leave No One Behind” is achieved.
The speakers at the programme were Piose Anar, Area Coordinator, NSRLM Kiphire block, Sukanya, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) for Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Mengu, Young Fellow from NIRDPR.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj organises People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) every year (Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas) from 2 October to 31 December to prepare District/ Block/ Gram Panchayat Development Plans for the following year.
In the PPC 2022, the Ministry has evolved thematic approach aggregating 17 Sustainable goals into nine broad themes of LSDGs at grassroots level.
