The District Cultural Office Kiphire, which is a branch of the Department of Art and Culture, today organised the Tribal Festival Kiphire 2022 with the theme ‘Igniting Cultural Traditions’.
Various groups and troupes from educational institutions and communities displayed the rich and vibrant culture through folk songs and folk dances.

The participants at the festivals were Zisaji Presidency college, Agape School, Govt Higher Secondary School and Loyola Higher Secondary School and cultural troupes representing the Tikhir, Sümi and Sangtam communities.
The special guest for the occasion was D Robin NCS, ADC, Kiphire. In his address, he said that our forefathers had left us no written records of our culture, yet all is not lost. He added that we have inherited our unique and rich culture in the form of folk songs and dances, which we must preserve.
Robin gave a special mention to Head GB, Kiphire Town, Throngseli Yingbthongerü and appreciated how he attends each function garbed proudly in his rich cultural attires.
The festival was held at Loyala Higher Secondary School, Kiphire.
