Truck dragged down in massive landslide at K.Wongthu, Kuthur under Tuensang district

Torrential downpour across Nagaland has caused various flashfloods, landslides and other calamities. Tuensang is no exception, having reported natural calamities in various parts of the district.

The impact of the massive landslide that damaged the K. Wongthu main highway was witnessed on July 3, with a truck dragged down in the landslide.

According to sources, a mountain stream and main road swelled due to excessive rains on Wednesday evening. The truck which was on the way to Noklak carrying construction purposes and shop items were swept away by the landslide around 2:30 pm.

K. Wongthu about 7 away from Kuthur village. With the help of villagers, the driver and handyman managed to get out before the vehicle fell off into a gorge. No injuries or casualties has been reported so far.
