The Public Ground, Noklak, came alive on Tuesday evening as the much-awaited “Tsokum Live Concert” unfolded with electrifying performances, marking one of the most memorable nights of the year. The event was organized by TaFMA Noklak (Task Force for Music & Arts) in collaboration with the Football Association Noklak District, bringing together the spirit of art, youth, and community celebration.
The concert, which kicked off at 6 p.m., featured a vibrant lineup of thirteen local talents and rising artists, captivating the crowd with diverse musical genres ranging from soulful ballads to high-energy rock and contemporary beats.
- The Echoing Whisper: Captivating Hearts.
Formed in 2022 under the name The Hybrid Band, the band is a genre-blending music group that harmonizes both gospel and secular sounds. The band later adopted its current name ‘The Echoing Whisper ‘ to better reflect its artistic vision and message.
Since its formation, The Echoing Whisper has performed at various events, including the Mini Hornbill Festival and rock beat contest in Tuensang and several other music fests across the region. The band aims to inspire young people by embodying positivity and purpose in their craft. Their songs echo not only melody but also meaning — a whisper that resonates with hope and authenticity.
- The Echoes Band: Reviving Rock and Gospel from Noklak
The Echoes Band is a local musical group hailing from Noklak, formed by a group of talented young musicians driven by a passion to gospel rock and contemporary music among the younger generation. The band performs in both English and their local dialect, Khiamniungan, showcasing a blend of cultural identity and modern rhythm. Over the years, The Echoes Band has performed at various events, festivals, and church gatherings. With their music, they aim to bridge generations and keep the spirit of rock and gospel alive in the hills of Noklak.

With dedication and a heart full of passion, Tsujang hopes to refine her musical skills and share her voice with the world. - From Humble Beginnings to Chasing Dreams: MC Shiu’s Musical Journey
At just 25, Mechei, better known by his stage name MC Shiu, is carving his path as an independent artist. Despite facing challenges and setbacks along the way, his love for music has only grown stronger with time. MC Shiu began his musical journey by collaborating on several cover songs and performing on numerous live stages. Staying true to his art, he has now proudly released his original track “Tsokhailo,” a song that reflects his distinctive sound and creative spirit.
- Taang S: A Young Voice Rising from Kusong Village:
Taang S is a 15-year-old artist with a voice of a nightingale who discovered a love for singing at the young age of 12. Her musical journey began when she first participated in a school co-curricular solo singing competition proudly securing first position. Since then, Taang has continued to share her gift, performing in church gatherings and various special occasions. In 2023, she represented her talent on a larger stage, performing at a live concert with the 14 Assam Rifles, organized under the banner of HAS.
Grateful for the opportunities that have shaped her journey, Taang says, “I thank God for blessing me to be myself, and with His presence, I know I will forever be blessed.”

Shangchio is a well-known artist from Noklak, admired for his powerful performances on various stages and occasions. What makes his story truly remarkable is that, despite being visually challenged, his God-gifted voice continues to move and inspire countless music lovers. As Shangchio beautifully expresses, “Even though I can’t see this beautiful world around me as clearly as you do, I can hear the wonderful music around me with my ears and sing out as loud as I can — and for that, I am very thankful to God.”

Tsemthong Hailing is a talented solo artist whose passion and dedication to music have earned him recognition in the local music scene. In 2024, he achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the NRSU Solo Competition, showcasing his exceptional talent and stage presence.

The Nerf is a dynamic group of young boys who have mastered the art of beatboxing. With their inventive rhythms and energetic performances, their musical beats is a treat the audiences.
- Tsoiya Shiu Dancing to the Rhythm of Passion and Culture
Tsoiya is a gifted dancer and performer who discovered her passion from a young age. She often performs in school functions, church gatherings, and various local programs. Tsoiya has grown into a prominent figure in the dance scene, participating in prestigious international festivals and captivating audiences worldwide with her unique style and flair. In 2023, she took a bold step further by starting her own dance classes, sharing her knowledge and inspiring the next generation of dancers. Her remarkable journey reached another milestone in 2024, when she graced the stage at the prestigious Hornbill Festival, one of Nagaland’s grandest celebrations.
- Mongshai and Lamniu: Dancing with Passion.
Mongshai and Lamniu, currently studying in Class 10 at St. Paul School, Noklak, began their dance journey at the ages of 12 and 13. From the very start, they were drawn to Golfy dance, and over the years, dance has grown to become a significant part of their lives. For them, dance is more than a hobby but a way to express themselves, embrace creativity, and overcome challenges. Through learning new techniques and exploring personal expression, they have discovered that dance not only builds confidence and self-esteem but also fosters a positive image and outlook on life.

Ignite Dance Crewz is a high-energy dance collective fueled by passion, creativity, and rhythm. With every performance, the trio brings the stage to life, inspiring audiences and sparking a love for dance in everyone who watches.
- Virus drums: The Beat That Moves the Crowd
Khumo, who goes with his stage stage ‘Virus srums’ is a talented drummer whose electrifying skills can turn any stage into a pulsating dance floor. He often plays with bands, captivating audiences with his rhythm and precision.
The musical night was hosted by Khushi Shiu who kept the audience engaged throughout the event with her confident stage presence, an opening performance by the volunteers, invocation was graced by Tiajungba, Pastor, Ao Baptist Church, Noklak.
