The Thang Students’ Union (TSU) ceremonially marked the opening of the Children and Adolescents’ Library at Buchesou, Noklak Village, on February 20. Peihau Nsarangbe, Deputy Director of the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Nagaland, graced the traditional opening as the special guest.
The library had already been officially inaugurated earlier by the Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, on Statehood Day, December 1, 2025, along with 120 libraries across the state. The project was implemented by the Department of Art and Culture as the nodal agency under SASCI 2023–2024.

In his address, Nsarangbe stated that the library was one among many constructed across Nagaland under the initiative, with locations carefully selected and books and materials provided by the Government. He remarked that although it might appear to be a small step, it will have a meaningful impact on the student community and serve a great purpose in the long run.
He urged the students and the community to maintain the library properly so that it would remain a valuable resource for future generations, adding that they were fortunate to have such a facility in their village. He encouraged the students to set clear targets for their studies and to make the best use of the opportunity. He also expressed hope that the collection of books would continue to increase in the future, enriching young minds and promoting learning.
