The Tikhir Students’ Union Kohima (TSUK) held its 28th General Session cum Literary & Freshers’ Meet on August 23 at the State Institute of Rural Development Auditorium, Kohima. The theme for the event was “Propelling minds forward, perfecting the pathways.”
The programme began with the TSUK anthem and a prayer led by Atsula, Women Pastor of TBCK. TSUK President Akumba M delivered the welcome address, while Y Rebekha Tutsuliu, Vice President of TWUK, encouraged students to value their opportunities, think beyond classrooms and be innovative.
A special song, “A Million Dreams” by T Mongtsula, added a motivational touch. Zisekyu T Chirr, Vice President TSUK, presented awards to meritorious students, and Khiantimong CJ, Statistical Secretary, shared the union’s progress report. Pastor Tsinthong offered a prayer for students.
The guest speaker, Joseph Thongliu, NPS, Chief Security Officer, Civil Secretariat, spoke on discipline, integrity and perseverance. He urged students to aim high, build character, and serve society with humility.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Thulinthong T, General Secretary TSUK.

In the afternoon, a literary session showcased student talents through events like elocution, a debate by Koksheba and Vichimshi, and a play “Eclipse of Two.” The programme concluded with the announcement of results and a benediction by Kheanamong, Treasurer TSUK.
The event provided a platform to celebrate academic excellence, nurture creativity, and strengthen unity among the Tikhir community.
