Tsuwao Students’ Union kicks off 5th Edition Christmas Open Football Tournament

T Musho Lam, president of Khiamniungan Sports Council (KSC), graced the 5th edition of Christmas Open Football Tournament at Tsuwao Public Ground on 20 December.

The tournament is organised by Tsuwao Students’ Union under the theme ‘Talent Hunt’.

Altogether, 10 teams are participating in the tournament which will continue till 26 December.

Special guest Lam stated that sport maintains no boundaries and is played worldwide. Tsuwao village holds great responsibility in different fields, he added. Assuring that development is just in its birth and it will steadily take place one after another, he urged the Tsuwao community to be patient during the process.

He stated that the district is not backward but rather it is only that the district is lacking in facilities and there is no platform for people prove their capabilities. Without challenges, there will never be success, Lam stressed.

As part of the tournament, the KSC team paid a visit to the ongoing construction of the KSC complex at the Laying Foundation Stone site of Eklanye Model Residential School (EMRS) in Noklak District which was implemented by the Department of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and inaugurated by the president of India Droupati Murmu on 2 November 2022.
