A Tuensang-bound Sumo (NL01D 9367) met with an accident near Wokha village between 9:39 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on August 9. The taxi was carrying 10 passengers, nine of whom boarded from Kohima and one from Wokha.

According to officials of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha Unit, no casualties were reported; however, three passengers sustained minor injuries. All the passengers were taken to Mhondamo Memorial Hospital for check-ups.

Although doctors advised 24-hour observation, five passengers proceeded to Tuensang, four went to Dimapur, and one remained in Wokha as they reportedly felt fine.

The cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed, though the driver attributed it to a left-side brake failure. The vehicle remains at the site and is expected to be recovered on Monday.
