The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Tuensang recently conducted its regular monthly meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall. The meeting, chaired by Imtichuba Chang, MLA and Chairman of DPDB Tuensang, discussed various developmental matters, DIPR stated.
Key points covered during the meeting included a review of the minutes from the previous month’s session. Notable recommendations were made, such as the proposal to establish a helipad in Noksen Town and the potential creation of a new government school in Yungphang Village. The latter proposal is awaiting detailed verification reports from the concerned department.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to a presentation by the Eleutherous Christian Society (ECS) Tuensang, addressing waste management in Tuensang Town. It was decided that a committee would be formed to raise awareness and encourage proper waste segregation at the household level. Moreover, the board suggested that NABARD be engaged on behalf of ECS for water resource and watershed development in the Laktak, Moyangse, and Chendang catchment areas.

Among the meeting’s agenda items, the board also endorsed the establishment of sub-centers in Ngangpong Village and Eshou Village. Additionally, plans for a ginger processing unit in Tuensang received the board’s approval.
Prominent attendees at the meeting included Berimong Chang, SDO(C) Tuensang; Küdazo Swüro, EAC; Er. Maomongba, DPO Land; I. Changsonla, Coy Commander HG/SDRF; and Mhaonchan Yanthan, EO KVIB Tuensang. Furthermore, presentations highlighting departmental activities were delivered by NST Tuensang and the Sericulture Department of Tuensang.
