A Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme was held at Tower Clock Tuensang on 25 January.
It was organised by the District Administration and Election office Tuensang, informed a DIPR report.
In the programme, ADC Tuensang Thungchanbemo Tungoe highlighted the objective of the SVEEP Campaign and encouraged citizens above the age of 18 years to get self-registered so that they can enjoy the right to vote in the electoral process of the biggest democracy in the world.
The ADC also launched the clean election pledge signature campaign.
EAC Tuensang Arhonbeni Ezung encouraged all to take part in the forthcoming election in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
She emphasised on “one man one vote” and on ethical and moral elections. She also mentioned the power of the voters to elect good leadership for the district so that the development and upliftment of the society can be achieved.
“Let’s all abstain from malpractice and vote with honesty and integrity,” Ezung added.
During the programme, Lichemri and S Yongkhong Kelep entertained the crowd present with special numbers.
