Two arrested in Tuensang under NDPS in September

The Office of the Superintendent of Police today informed in a press statement that it has arrested two persons in separate incidents in the month of September under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS)

On September 27, basing on the information received, the QRT Crime Branch conducted a house search at the residence of Lichemse (38yrs) S/o- Throngso and recovered seventy two (72) capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon weighing 42.11 grams approximately from his possession. In this regard, the alleged accused was arrested and registered a regular criminal case under the NDPS Act for further investigation.

In another incident, the QRT Crime Branch during a house search of Majia D/o- Thsagichem, recovered and seized  a soap case containing suspected heroin weighing 7.53 grams approximately from her possession.  The alleged accused was arrested and registered a criminal case vide Longkhim PS under the NDPS Act for further investigation.

On September 23, while conducting MVCP at Chare Town area, the police team led by SI. Thepfusazo Yase, I/C. Chare Out-Post recovered 60 (sixty) bottles of MC Rum from one truck. The accused was identified as Minas (23 yrs) S/o- Mustafa from Dimapur. In this connection, a case was registered and the accused arrested under the NLTP Act.

The press statement issued by the PRO & Addl. Superintendent of Police, Tuensang, Nagaland also informed on the various activities taken up by the Tuensang Police.

On September 22, the DEF Tuensang conducted an awareness programme on the topic “Capacity Building on Cyber Crime” at Baptist Thangyen Higher Secondary School and SP Office Conference Hall, Tuensang respectively with an aim to create awareness and familiarize the students, teaching staffs and women & youth of Police family about online threat and other dangers lurking in Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR).

During the awareness programme at SP Office Conference Hall, Tuensang, various officers of the unit highlighted on the drugs policy in Tuensang  District, the harmful impact of narcotics,some legal sections of law & violations, challenges to stop from narcotic, women safety and its important sections of law, Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) etc.

The Cyber Crime Cell, DEF Tuensang conducted an awareness programme on “Safety on social media” at Kasturba Gandhi Balika  Vidyalaya, Noklak Town on September 30. During the program, ASI. Putiyanger highlighted on Cybercrime classification- Crime against people, crime against property and crime against Government. He also shared awareness on utilizing common platforms “Cyber Crime on Social Media” such as online gaming, phishing link, Nigerian Scam online relationship, Text bomb, Pink Whatsapp ,online shopping, GB Whatsapp , Identity Theft, Sextortion, OLX scam, Lottery Scam, QR code Scam etc.

Important Do’s and Don’ts to strengthen cyber security for prevention from Cyber Crime such as abstaining from clicking unknown link on social media and uploading personal detail, safety tips to stay safe online on Social media platforms were highlighted. Stop NCII ( Non- Consensual Intimate Image)  a free tool designed to support victims of Non- Consensual Intimate abuse, Helpline number-1930, NCRP( National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal)- https://cybercrime.gov.in/  was also updated to the gathering.

On September 30, a one day Free Medical Camp was organised by DEF Tuensang in collaboration with the CMO Tuensang at the office complex of Superintendent of Police, Tuensang for the welfare of the Police personnel, Family and Officers of the unit. Specialized Doctors and Medical Staffs conducted free health check-ups and also provided free medicines to the Police families.
