Dimapur: NTWTA condemns practice of scamming hard working two wheeler taxi rider

Accused scammer caught in Dimapur on 13 June 2023

A suspected scammer who supposedly attempted to walk away without paying for the taxi ride has landed at East police station Dimapur after the Two Wheeler Taxi Association lodged an FIR against him.

Nymen, the rider who caught the alleged scammer narrated that the incident took place on 13 June 2023 near Civil Hospital, Dimapur. The rider said that she became suspicious of the man’s behaviour when he insisted on doing online payment while she sought for cash and therefore she immediately had him reported.

Khrozote Kapfo, Advisor of Two Wheeler Taxi Association, stated that the association had received other complaints against the same person and that they had been looking for the accused scammer since last year. He mentioned that they could easily identify the man as the one wanted for other cheating cases because he wore earrings and had a tattoo on his left neck. He also lauded the lady rider for catching him and reporting to the group immediately.

Kapfo further added that since the incident, it has come to light that the accused, who is in his 20s, has been practicing scamming since very long back and had been jailed a couple of times for the same.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association, Kohima HQ, in a press release, condemned the behaviour of the alleged scammer for taking advantage of the hard working rider in Dimapur and urged law enforcement agencies to take swift action against the scammer.
