Aimed to foster human resource growth, the Tzurangkong Students’ Conference (TKM) organized a seminar themed, “Unlocking Potentials,” drawing 150 participants from the Nagaland-Assam border region on 26th October, 2024. The event, held at Government High School Tzurangkong, aimed to empower local youth and students to harness the region’s potential as an emerging economic hub in Mokokchung District.

During the formal session, Lanutoshi Aier, President of the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), emphasized the importance of overcoming fear of failure and uncertainty in pursuing personal growth. “The journey of unlocking potential is one of self-discovery and resilience,” Aier said, encouraging attendees to learn, adapt to change, and build inspiring networks. He urged the youth to seize available opportunities, underscoring that the future must be actively built.

Renbemo T. Kithan, SDO (C) and Border Magistrate of Tzurangkong, highlighted the value of human resources as a critical asset for national growth. He stressed the need for equipping youth with practical skills to bolster the state’s future capacity, identifying gaps in quality education, vocational skills, and critical thinking across Nagaland. Kithan also pointed to the private sector’s reliance on non-indigenous communities, underscoring the importance of self-sufficiency within Nagaland’s economy. “Seminars like this are essential for tapping into
our local potential,” he stated.

Participants engaged with eminent speakers, including Principal of ITI Mokokchung, T. Imlisunep Ao; Imotemsu Ao, IFS and DCF at ICFRE-Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat; Dr. P. Tiatemsu, Associate Professor of Botany at Fazl Ali College; as well as experts from the Reserve Bank of India and Moneywise Centre for Financial Literacy. Presentations covered diverse topics, such as skills for the job market, innovative farming, higher education opportunities, financial literacy, and preparation for civil service exams, providing attendees with practical insights and pathways to success.

The seminar concluded with a strong message of empowerment and a call for self-development, leaving the participants with actionable insights to unlock their potential in building a strong future for themselves and the region.
