ULB polls 2024: SEC notifies on Political Parties, list of symbols

The State Election Commissioner, Nagaland in exercise of the provision under Section 31 (1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023 has decided to adopt the Political Parties in principle specifying the names of Recognized National and State Parties, Registered – Unrecognized Parties and list of Free Symbols, issued in pursuance of Paragraph 17 of the Election Symbol (Reservation and Allotment), Order 1968, as amended from time to time, by Election Commission of India.

In pursuance of Rule 19 of Part – III of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, the following National Parties, State Parties and their symbols along with free symbols are hereby adopted by the State Election Commission of Nagaland for conduct of Election to the Municipal and Town Council, 2024 and as specified under:-

a) The National Parties and the symbols respectively reserved for them;

b) The State Parties of Nagaland and the symbols respectively reserved for them;

c) State Parties from other States and the symbols respectively reserved for them;

d) If a State Party recognized in one State is granted concession for using its reserved symbol under Para 10 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 in another State in which it is not so recognized, the nomination of Candidates set up by that party in such other State will also be required to be subscribed by one (1) elector of the Ward, as proposer;

e) The Free Symbol.
