Kohima police recovered a dead body of an unidentified male from the area below the KMC dumping site, between Dzürüzou (T-Khel) and Meriema village on Saturday.

The body was found unclothed and is in a state of advanced decomposition, rendering visual identification futile.

According to police, the dead body had an old surgical scar on the abdomen, running vertically from the navel towards the chest while a sacred red thread (Kalava) was tied on the right wrist, suggesting the individual may have been a Hindu.

The body is that of a male of average build, approximately 5 feet 6 inches in height and based on the presence of the sacred thread, it is presumed that the deceased may have been a non-local Hindu male, police stated.
