Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has appealed to the countrymen to hoist the tricolor at their homes from 9th to 15th August under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Shah also urged citizens to upload their selfies with the National Flag on the Har Ghar Tiranga website.

Statrted in 2022 under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th year of Independence, the idea behind the campaign is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the National Flag.

In a post on X, Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign “has evolved into a national movement over the last two years, awakening the basic unity in every Indian across the length and breadth of the nation. I appeal to all citizens to bolster this movement further and participate in it with the same enthusiasm again.”

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Sign too made the same request to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and “hoist the national flag, the symbol of India’s pride and honour, in your homes from 9 August to 15 August with great respect.”
