Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, Ramdas Athawale, held a meeting with the officials of Social Welfare Department at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima on 7th September, 2024.
Briefing the media after the meeting, the Union Minister mentioned that the officials of social welfare department, highlighted the various pending cases which included:
– District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) Dimapur, Mon and Tuensang to facilitate comprehensive services to Persons with Disabilities
– Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Eralibill -Dimapur to provide both preventive and promotional aspects of rehabilitation like education, health, employment vocational training, research manpower development and rehabilitation for PwDs
– De-addiction Centres for females, Kohima and Dimapur to provide facility for the treatment and care to females who are dependent on drugs
– De-addiction Centres for boys (18 years) Dimapur, Kohima, Mon, Mokokchung and Kiphire to provide facility for the treatment and care to boys who are into substances abuse.
Further the Department also highlighted the remarks of the cases and requested the Athawale to consider early execution and release of funds. The minister after hearing their grievances, assured the department to look into the matter and take up the issues and solve their pending cases at the earliest.
Later, the Union Minister also highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Flagship schemes including – Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Ujala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayush Bharat Yojana).
