The United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) has re-affirmed, in toto, full support to the 26th August 2022 ENPO Resolution.
The ULSP held an emergency meeting today at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall in Kiphire headquarters with all the frontal organisations under USLP, all political parties, all Head GBs. VCCs, the United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC) and the Akehta Sangtamlarü Thsingmüjang (AST).
In a press release issued today, the USLP stated that the meeting resolved to re-affirm “in toto to fully support the 26th August 2022 ENPO Resolution, to abstain from participating in the upcoming 2023 NLA election” until the demand for ‘Frontier Nagaland’ is fulfilled by the Government of India.
The press release was jointly signed by USLP vice president Kipitong Sangtam, AST president S Apila, and USSC executive chairman Daniel Sechopi.
The meeting also prohibited any “individual/candidate” to “file nomination under Sangtam jurisdiction” and further warned that, should anyone not follow the directives, the USLP would “not be held responsible in the event of any circumstances.”
The press release further stated that the USLP has “endorsed and empowered” the following to “fully implement the resolution” – the United Sangtam Students conference (USSC), Akehta Sangtamlarü Thsingmüjang (AST), and the village councils.
The press release ended with these words: “[A]ny individuals under USLP violating the resolution shall be ex-communicated from Sangtam Community effectively.”
