Concerned by the menace of substance abuse and the use of alcohol in the region, the United Sangtam Region (USR), GPRN has informed that there will be total ban on the sale of “illicit drugs or substance” within its jurisdiction.

The USR, NSCN IM has also notified that no business establishments except pharmacies will be allowed to open on Sundays.

Further, Likhumse Sangtam, CAO, GPRN has cautioned government employees who are irregular at work, causing inconveniences to the public. “Such irresponsible manner of holding official posts in government departments without least concern for the people they are expected to serve and for which they are paid for, USR will not allow this nuisance to continue,” he said.

This statement should be considered as a warning and anyone not obeying shall be penalized accordingly, the United Sangtam Region stated.
