US President Biden commends PM Modi for historic visits to Poland and Ukraine

New Delhi: Leaders exchange views on number of regional and global issues including situation in Bangladesh

President of the Unites States of America, Joseph R. Biden, called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening and commended the latter on his historic visit to Poland and Ukraine.

The Ministry of External Affairs informed that while discussing the situation in Ukraine, Prime Minister briefed President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine and reiterated India’s consistent position in favour of dialogue and diplomacy and expressed full support for early return of peace and stability. The White House also stated that Biden commended Modi for his message of peace and ongoing humanitarian support for Ukraine, including its energy sector.

During their conversation, PM Modi conveyed his appreciation for President Biden’s deep commitment the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

MEA informed that the leaders also had a detailed exchange of views on a number of regional and global issues including the situation in Bangladesh, the United Nations General Assembly meetings in September and reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the cooperation in multilateral fora, including the Quad.
