Kipili Sangtam, in his speech, acknowledged the contributions made by the former members and the leaders of USLP for what United Sangtam is today.

Speaking on the topic ‘Integrity Contributes Towards Unification’, the MLA said that the goal of serving the community should be embedded in every person’s mind, body and soul as without it, a person will tend to lean towards personal gain which the veteran politician said will harm the unity in society. He also said that no matter what the designation a person holds, one should be humble enough to be able to sacrifice in the service for the common cause.

L T Sangtam, in his speech on ‘Tribal Bodies – the Backbone of Naga Customary Law’ stated that people need to develop the vision of understanding and knowledge about the supreme rights under the Indian Panel Law. He said that the main source of information for Nagas is word of mouth and when it comes to translating the law, it may not be well interpreted at times. The addl. advocate general added that all should be able to access the Rights given by the Constitution of India.

Y Ajungli Sangtam, speaking on “Sowing a Seed of Knowledge”, asserted that the people extending support and cooperation is how United Sangtam will progress further. The advocate stated that the length of service might be more or less, but the importance of hand holding is what uplifts the society, adding that a responsible and exemplary leader would leave his/her imprint for others to follow.

Earlier, K Aliba, President USLP, in his welcome note, addressed and honoured all the former USLP members, United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC), United Sangtam Gazetted Officers Union (USGOU), Akehda Sangtamlarü Thsingmüjang (AST), Head Gaon Bura (GBs) and council members from near and far villages for their time as well as their support towards the common welfare of the community.
