USLP re-affirms ENPO’s decision to abstain from any political campaign or nomination

The United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) organised a mass signature campaign today at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire town.

In the campaign, the USLP re-affirmed ENPO’s decision to abstain from any political campaigns or nominations within its jurisdiction.

The campaign was attended by GB’s and Village Council Chairmen (VCC) of all Sangtam villages under Kiphire district, and all the different political parties and leaders in the district.

The president of USLP, Seopi Sangtam, sent out a very strong message saying there should be no political campaigns or nominations within Sangtam Area.

The USLP president reminded the gathering that this movement was not to boycott the elections but to refrain from any political campaigns. He said the people were demanding rights within the Indian constitution and not against it.

The USLP also made a joint resolution along with signatories of Head GB’s, VCC, USSC, political parties and public leaders at the campaign today.
