The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has urged the Department of Transport, Government of Nagaland, to establish a District Transport Office (DTO) in Kiphire.

The demand, ’ade in a letter to the Secretary, Department of Transport, highlighted the inconvenience faced by the public due to the absence of a DTO in the district for over two decades.

The USSC, representing the interests of the Kiphire district, pointed out that citizens are forced to travel to neighboring districts for basic services such as renewal and issuance of driving licenses, resulting in financial and time constraints. This situation disproportionately affects those with limited means and mobility, stated the USSC.
