The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) on Monday met with Thavaseelan K, IAS, Principal Director of the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) at Kohima and expressed their disappointment over the transfer of three Science subject teachers under Kiphire district, calling it denial to Right to Education (RTE).
According to USSC, the transfer order that was issued this month violates an order which DoSE had issued on 9 January 2009 which stated, “no post shall be transferred out of the district along with the incumbent”.
General Secretary Lumpili Sangtam told Nagaland Tribune that the Conference seeks clarification from DoSE for its negligent action which has direct effects on students.

The representatives of USSC submitted a letter to the Principal Director where demand for the immediate cancellation of the transfer order within seven days had been made. The Conference, claiming that no relievers has been assigned, served the Directorate an ultimatum, threatening agitation if the transfer order is not cancelled/revoked within the time frame.
The schools from where the three science subject teachers have been transferred without relievers are reported to be GMS PHED Ward, Kiphire Town, Government school in Yangseyu village and Government School in Yangli Mission Centre area.
