Vevoyi W D Vadeo, President, Chakhesang Youth Organization Kohima (CYOK) on Wednesday addressed the 63rd general session of the Zhavame Students’ Union (ZSU) under the theme ‘Success through Persistence’ at Public Amphitheatre, Zhavame village in Phek district.
Vadeo said nothing great can be achieved without persistence because nothing great comes to those who quit when things get hard and he expounded the need to have will to persist through challenges and the strength to persevere in hard times.

He observed that persistence is the root cause of all success and the lack of persistence is the root cause of all failure and added that courageous persistence is the one quality more than any other that can guarantee success.
The leader asked the students to have vision and make their goals actionable daily and follow through, develop discipline and good habits, and to be confident.
“Know and accept that there will be obstacles and setbacks; then prepare for them. Nothing important was ever accomplished without adversity, setbacks and difficulties. One of the ways you can prepare for setbacks and obstacles is to anticipate potential problems and have a contingency plan,” said Vadeo while he also asked the students to review their steps and learn from their experience.
The 63rd general session of the Zhavame Students’ Union was held on 28 December at Public Amphitheatre, Zhavame village.
He exhorted the students to stay away from naysayers or worrywarts and continue to work hard adding that there is nothing more encouraging than having positive reinforcement and he added that success will come to those who have the courage to want it.
Quit settling for average and strive for extraordinary, the speaker asserted and told the gathering to boldly go in the direction of their dreams.
Razukhru D Vasa, Project Director, DRDA, Phek was the resource speaker, VCC Zhavame, Zao Krocha delivered a speech. Presidential address was delivered by Rokovi Movi. The general secretary report was presented by Visalu Shupao and the programme was chaired by Thorhu Movi.
