Vandrix FC (A) lifted the championship title of the first Under-15 Futsal Tournament 2025, defeating ASFC Changtongya 1-0 in a 30-minute thrilling final match held at
Mojabi Futsal Turf, Salangtem Ward Mokokchung on Thursday evening.
The tournament, organized by the Kichutip Sporting Association (KSA) under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA), saw the participation of 32 teams from across the state.
In the final match, Vandrix FC (A)’s Sabaan scored the decisive goal, securing a hard-
fought victory for his team. Despite a strong defensive display, ASFC Changtongya were unable to equalize, and Vandrix maintained their lead until the final whistle. Hasmai of Vandrix FC (A) was the only player to be booked in the final match.
The champion team, Vandrix FC (A), walked away with a cash prize of ₹30,000 along with certificates, while runners-up ASFC Changtongya received ₹20,000 and certificates. The two semi-finalist teams—Soyim Boys (A) and Evergreen Club—were awarded ₹5,000 each. Additionally, three individual awardees received ₹3,000 each along with certificates for their outstanding performances in the tournament- Best Goalkeeper: Lanunungkum (Vandrix FC A); Highest Goal Scorer: Hengoulen (Evergreen Club) – 24 goals; and Player of the Tournament: Moatemsu (ASFC Changtongya).
The closing ceremony was graced by Nokdier Imchen, proprietor of M/s NI Enterprise and Class-I contractor as the guest of honour.
In his address, Imchen congratulated KSA for successfully organizing the grassroots event and expressed his appreciation for their dedication. He said, “NI Enterprise is proud and privileged to support this initiative and remains committed to supporting similar events in the future.”
Reflecting on the three-day tournament, he remarked that that people witnessed outstanding football and remarkable individual talents. “If these young players are nurtured properly, I am confident we will see many great footballers emerge in the years to come,” Imchen stated.
“KSA has done a great job by offering children the right environment to develop their skills, discipline, and sportsmanship. Engaging in sports is crucial, as it helps children shift their focus from the digital world to a healthier and more active lifestyle,” he asserted.
Further emphasizing the need for collective support, Imchen called upon parents, community members, authorities, and the government to support and encourage activities like sports, music to household chores, and other skill-building endeavours. These are essential for the holistic physical, mental, and social development of our children, he said.

Looking to the future, he concluded with optimism, “While the world eagerly awaits the 2026 World Cup, I believe the Under-15 boys of this tournament are already looking forward to next year’s edition with great anticipation.”
The evening program included an invocation by Limaonen Imchen, assistant professor at Nagaland Bible College, and special addresses by Talitoshi Imchen, president BJP Mangkolemba, and Imkumniba Kichu, councillor MMC. A special musical performance was presented by Kimalong.
Tinukaba Longchar, Convenor of the tournament, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders, sponsors, volunteers, and teams for their support in making the event a grand success.
