VBSY held at Khensa village; Advisor Imchen seeks feedbacks from VCs on implementation of CSS

Khensa (Mokokchung): 121 SHGs with 842 members under Ongpangkong South block acknowledged at program

A Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) program was held at Khensa Village in Mokokchung district on Monday with Advisor, IPR & Soil & Water Conservation, Nagaland, Imkong L. Imchen as the Special Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Imchen said that the vision of the Prime Minister is make India a developed nation by the centenary of its independence in 2047. He also asked the Village Councils attending the program to come forward with feedbacks on how different departments in the district are implementing the Central Schemes in their respective villages.

Led by the Advisor, the participants took a joint pledge of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The program also focused in bringing the economic difference between the rural and urban areas, encompassing diverse facets of development such as economic prosperity, social advancement, environmental sustainability and effective governance.

Later, in a post-program press interaction, Imkong L Imchen conveyed his understanding of the PM’s vision to transform India into a developed nation and economy by 2047. Imchen praised the innovative nature of the centrally sponsored flagship programs, emphasizing their importance in achieving the ambitious goals set by the Prime Minister.

While acknowledging the effectiveness of research schemes and applauding the target-oriented innovations, Imchen highlighted the crucial role of implementation at the state and departmental levels. He urged concerned departments and states to prioritize thoughtful execution to ensure the full realization of program objectives, contributing to India’s development into a strong economy by 2047.

During the VBSY program, beneficiaries shared inspiring success stories under different government schemes, emphasizing the positive impact on their lives.

National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM): Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the provision of loans, enabling them to successfully venture into diverse businesses. They highlighted the importance of hard work in achieving success and acknowledged the support from SHG departments. Suggestions were made for additional subsidies to further enhance their endeavours.

Jal Jeevan Mission: Imkongnungsang from Mangmetong village highlighted the success stories of the Jal Jeevan Mission, benefiting 837 households in the village.

Swachh Bharat Mission: Moalemba from Mekuli Village shared achievements under the Swachh Bharat Mission, including the construction of toilets, roads, drainage systems, and the attainment of open defecation-free status. The success stories were presented by residents from Mekuli, Aliba, and Mangmetong Villages.

Soil Health Card Scheme: Participation from Mekuli Village, Aliba Village, and Mangmetong Village presented success stories under the Soil Health Card Scheme, contributing to improved agricultural practices.

PM Kisan and PMAY-G: Success stories under PM Kisan were highlighted by residents from Mekuli and Chungtia Village, while achievements under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) were shared by Aliba and Chungtia Village.

Other highlights of the VBSY program included felicitation of achievers where 121 SHGs with 842 members, including 38 elderly households, under Ongpangkong South block, were acknowledged. Two individuals were felicitated for their innovative contributions:

Bemdanglila from Khensa Village for her dedication to the Metal Scrap business, uplifting her family’s well-being.

Talinungla from Chungtia Village for her commitment to the large-scale Juice business.

Further, PHED department awarded four villages – Khensa, Mekuli, Mangmetong, and Aliba – under the Swachh Bharat Mission for achieving an Open Defecation-Free model village. Additionally, three villages—Mangmetong, Mekuli, and Longjongkong—were felicitated for significant improvements and achieving ‘Har Ghar Jal’ under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
