The Village Fair 2025 cum launching programme of “One Family, One Project, One Entrepreneur, One Prayer Time” was held at Phusachodu Village in Phek district on October 9.

The initiative, envisioned by Kudecho Khamo, MLA and Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Government of Nagaland, aims at “Empowering Individuals, Uplifting Families, Strengthening Communities, Enriching Futures.”

The project was officially launched by Minister for Women Resources Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse;  Advisor, CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo; and Advisor, New & Renewable Energy & NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe. The One Family, One Prayer Time initiative was launched by Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, President of CBCC and Senior Pastor of CBCMHK.

On the occasion, “The Green Village Link” was also dedicated by Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary, CBC.

Speaking as the Special Guest, Minister Salhoutuonuo  Kruse said the fair was not merely a gathering but a celebration of traditions, culture, and community spirit — a reminder of people’s roots and resilience. She said the event showcased the hard work of farmers, creativity of artisans, and the hospitality for which the people are known.

Kruse highlighted that the fair was an opportunity to strengthen the local economy, promote indigenous crafts, and inspire the younger generation to take pride in their heritage. She assured that the State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, remains committed to rural development.

To develop the rural populace, she maintained that the Government has initiated various programs which aims at food security, poverty alleviation, infrastructure, technology dissemination in agriculture, natural resource management and inclusive growth — especially for women, youth, and tribal communities.

Commending the Chakhesang community for its excellence in farming, Kruse urged villagers to make use of the various government schemes available and advised all to avail its benefits.  “Today we are all aware that to depend on the government job is not possible. In this regard I am very much impressed with your initiative of launching “one family one project,” she noted.

She expressed optimism that the project, with faith in God, would yield fruitful results for the people. The Minister also thanked the community for electing Kudecho Khamo, describing him as a dynamic and energetic leader, and called upon all to work together with unity and determination toward common goals.

Guest of Honour, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe stressed the importance of hard work and self-reliance, noting that no government can provide jobs for all citizens. He expressed satisfaction that the younger generation of Nagas is rising to global challenges and urged them to continue striving for excellence.

In his keynote address, Kudecho Khamo described entrepreneurship as the best solution to the shrinking government job market. Khamo emphasized that while government jobs are good, they cannot employ all job seekers. He advocated for projects and entrepreneurship, which offer a better and more dignified life.

Rudashuyi Theluo, Head GB Phusachodu, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the event. A special presentation was showcased by the Youth Choir PBC, highlighting the talents of the community’s youth.

The Phusachodumi Women Society also presented a special song, adding to the event’s cultural flavor. The event concluded with a thanksgiving prayer by Rev. Vevotso Theluo, Former Pastor PBC, expressing gratitude for the community’s participation and spirit.
