Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF), Dimapur, on Wednesday extended humanitarian assistance to the fire-affected families of Burma Camp, East Block, near North East Christian University, Dimapur, where a massive fire broke out on December 14.
As part of its immediate relief intervention, VWF distributed plastic buckets, mugs, and clothes to all the affected families. The devastating fire rendered more than 100 plot holders and over 300 families homeless, most of whom belong to economically underprivileged sections of society. With winter intensifying the hardships of the displaced families, the relief materials brought much-needed comfort and support to the victims.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and happiness on receiving the essential items, which will help them cope with the immediate challenges following the tragedy.
