Vyasan R, IAS has taken charge of Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland following his appointment by the Election Commission of India on 13th October 2023, R Toshiemeren Aier, Assistant CEO, Nagaland, informed in a press release.

Vyasan R is a 2007 batch IAS officer of Nagaland Cadre. He replaces V Shashank Shekhar, IAS as the CEO.

The appointment comes just ahead of the 43 Tapi bye-election which is scheduled to conducted on 7th November. The counting of the votes will take place on 5th December. The Tapi seat, which is in Mon district of Nagaland, has been lying vacant since the sudden demise of its representation late Noke Wangnao from NDPP.
