Project Empathy, a non-profit organisation (www.projectempathy.org.in) will release “Walk With Me”, a musical collaboration emerging from the Naga Oral History: Stories of Empathy journey on February 17.
Created entirely by musicians from Nagaland, the song stands as a testament to the extraordinary artistic depth of the North East of India and brings a voice from India to the global conversation on compassion and shared humanity, stated a press release issued by the organisation.
The song is written and composed by Parasher Baruah and soulfully rendered by Diapeo. It include Wonchi Patton on guitar and Kiran Meitei on the piano by, and arrangement by Viketuolie Metha, with the support and guidance of composer Khyo TCK, Mayuri Rajkonwar, and Yogi Dholakia.
“Walk With Me is a gentle yet stirring call to listen without judgment, to stand beside one another, and to move forward together. More than a song, Walk With Me is an empathy anthem for our times — a reminder that, in a fractured, fast-changing world, our greatest strength remains our ability to feel for one another. Rooted in lived experiences and oral histories from Nagaland, the song carries a universal message: empathy is not an idea, but a way forward for humanity,” stated the press release.

The music video, directed and shot by Parasher Baruah, edited by Kashyap Kulkarni, features additional cinematography by Caimas and Vikepe Yhokha which according to the press release “visually extends this journey of togetherness, resilience, and hope seen in Nagaland and across India”.
“Each time this song is played or sung, it is a call to action for us Indians and people across the globe, to say ‘I AM WITH YOU…YOU ARE NOT ALONE”, said Vibha Lakhera, Founder of Project Empathy.
With this release, Project Empathy celebrates not only a song, but a movement — one that places empathy at the heart of India’s cultural voice to the world. The video will be released on the YouTube page of Project Empathy @ProjectEmpathyOfficial at 11 am.
