The Wangkhao Government College Students’ Union (WGCSU), Mon, has appealed the Higher Education Department to revoke the transfer order of the college’s lone Asst. Professor of Environmental Science.

In its letter to the Director of Higher Education, the WGCSU expressed its apprehension that the Assistant Professor may be required to leave without a reliever assigned which will put the students in “immense misery once again”.

It also mentioned that despite the End Term Exams being just around the corner, the Syllabus as well as the Internal Assessment activities are yet to be completed. Further, No EVS nor IDC Classes has been taken till now, the student union stated.

“Therefore, we humbly request your esteemed authority to kindly understand the situation face by the students and either revoke the transfer order of the mentioned Assistant Professor or give us the reliever at the earliest, as our exams is nearer, and we need to complete the syllabus, WGCSU General Secretary Shuyan Konyak H and Assistant General Secretary Nahpho F Konyak appealed on behalf of the students.

The Konyak Students’ Union has earlier objected to the transfer of the lone teacher without assigning a reliever. It pointed out that the transfer will only add to the existing challenges at the college that has an enrolment of 666 students.
