The Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) has condemned the violence meted out to some employees of the PHE department at Science College area in Jotsoma in the wee hours of March 5 by some people.
An update from WAPO on Monday stated that the area had the distinction of being a violence-free area in all the earlier state general elections since 1964.
Condemning the act of violence, the organisation warned that such acts of violence will not be tolerated ‘as it smears and tarnishes the good image of the entire area’.
The organisation further requested the concerned authorities to book and punish the perpetrators as per the appropriate sections of the law.
Meanwhile, Jotsoma Village Council (JVC) also condemned the incident and stated that it did not endorse such acts.
