The Western Angami Students Union (WASU) has expressed concern over the State government’s order for transfer of teachers from Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma as “Attachment” to New Model College, Wakching, Mon.

The transfer order of the teachers in the middle of the academic year without any replacements will leave students in a lurch and will greatly affect their academic progress, WASU stated.

With concern over Kohima Science College (A) Jotsoma, being a prestigious institution in its jurisdiction and for the well being of its students, the union further stated that the transfer will hamper the academic performance of our students, and adversely effect the institution, which has been striving to nurture students from across Nagaland and beyond ever since it’s establishment.

WASU therefore appeals to the concern authority to reconsider the said transfer of teachers as “Attachment” to new colleges which are yet to start functioning.

As per the order, three assistant professors are to be transferred from Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.
