Unprecedented monsoon rains have triggered widespread flooding, landslides, and infrastructure damage across Nagaland, affecting numerous districts and displacing several families. The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, has confirmed multiple reports of damages to houses, roads, bridges, breast walls, agricultural fields, and jhum cultivations.
Low-lying districts have been the worst hit, with overflowing rivers and severe waterlogging reported across many areas, Commissioner & Secretary, Lhouchalie Vyas, IAS said in a statement.

According to the statement, Dimapur district is among the worst affected where severe flooding has been reported from SM Colony, Ragailong Colony, Namgalong Colony,Super Market, K. Sachu Colony, Ekhyoyan Village, Walford Colony, Model Colony and Purana Bazaar
The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dimapur has established relief camps for displaced residents. Personnel from Home Guards, Civil Defence, and State Disaster Response Force (HG.CD & SDRF) have been deployed for search and rescue operations.
Chümoukedima district reported flooding in Tenyiphe Village, Chekiye Village, Ward 10 near DC Office, Virazouma Village, Neiphrolie Colony, Singrijan, Khopanala, Sovima, Thilixu, and Naga United Villages, and 173rd CRPF Camp near Dimapur Airport
Infrastructure damage due to continuous rainfall has also been reported from various parts of the district, the NSDMA stated.

A submerged house and a Landslide and road collapse on the S. Hetoyi–Ghokuto stretch, Niuland (DIPR)
In Niuland district, flooding occurred in Kuhuboto, New Showuba, Nizhevi, Lotovi, Suhoi, Nihokhu, Hovishe, Ghokuto, Toshiho, Khehoyi and Anato Village.
The NSDMA further stated that Kohima, Mon, Wokha, and Mokokchung have faced landslides
In Kohima, a retaining wall collapsed below the Civil Secretariat, damaging two vehicles and blocking road access to several government offices. Waterlogging in urban areas was also reported.
In Mon district, the road connecting Mon to Longleng was completely cut off by a landslide at Yongam Village on July 4.

Wokha district reported a flash flood in Chanka Village, destroying large swathes of paddy fields.
In Mokokchung, landslides were reported from Changki Village – damaging the main road and water pipelines and also Longkong village.
In Tuensang district, NH202 has been completely severed at Chare Town. The DDMA Tuensang assisted in transporting stranded and sick passengers to Tuensang town. The road linking Chare to Mokokchung has also been cut off at multiple points due to landslides. The bailey bridge between the two districts is under severe threat of collapse from the swollen river current.
The NSDMA said it is closely monitoring the evolving situation and coordinating with district authorities for relief and rescue operations. It advised the public to remain vigilant and follow advisories issued by local authorities.
