A jungle fire broke out near Pungro Road, 10 KM away from Kiphire Town on Sunday 2nd March 2025. According to the fire department Kiphire, the incident was reported at around 01: 56 PM. Two fire tenders from Kiphire along with manpower were rushed to the scene and took approximately 4 hour to bring the fire under control.

The timely response and coordination with Longthonger village and fire station Kiphire helped to minimize the damage caused by the fire and averted a potential disaster in the region.
