In a political statement, Th. Muivah, Chief Political Negotiator and General Secretary/Ato Kilonser of the NSCN/GPRN, has alleged the Government of India of betraying the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015. Stating that Nagalim and the NSCN (IM) have given India the “finest opportunity to resolve the decades old Indo-Naga political conflict” by signing the Framework Agreement, Muivah said that it will not wait forever for India to respect and honor the terms of the Agreement.
In the statement issued on 7th November 2024, the General Secretary of the NSCN (IM) re-asserted that “Nagalim unique history”, “Nagalim sovereignty and freedom”, “Nagalim sovereign territory”, “Nagalim sovereign national flag” and “Nagalim sovereign national constitution” are non-negotiable.
He anticipated the Government of India “will attempt to impose conditions and terms of surrender on the NSCN”, “force the NSCN/GPRN to sign a political agreement without the Nagalim sovereign national flag and Nagalim sovereign national constitution”, and “will resort to brute military force inorder to crush Nagalim and the NSCN when the latter refused to capitulate under the condition and terms of surrender of the Gol”. However, Muivah affirmed it would take whatever necessary steps “to protect and defend” Nagalim’s unique history, sovereignty and freedom, territory, national flag and national constitution “by whatever means including armed struggle”.
“We rule out peaceful means against the ignominious betrayal of the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015 by the Gol,” the General Secretary of the NSCN (IM) stated.
Further, he proposed a third-party intervention to resolve the matter and said that if “such a political initiative is rejected by the GoI, the NSCN shall resume the violent armed resistance against India for defending the Nagalim unique history and her sovereign existence.”
Muivah also added that if India sincerely desires an honorable political agreement with Nagalim and the NSCN, the Government of India must respect and honor the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement.
