Under the direction and guidance of Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) Wokha, a joint inspection of pharmacies in Wokha town was conducted on Friday by a team comprising of members from the District Administration Wokha, District Police and drugs control officer Wokha to check for installation of CCTVs.

The administration has earlier issued direction for compulsory installation of CCTVs at all the pharmacies to prevent sale of illicit pharmaceutical drugs particularly to children as part of the Joint Action Plan adopted by National Commission of Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for the protection of child rights and to combat substance abuse among children.
During the inspection, it was found out that except two pharmacies, all other pharmacy has complied to the order. Warning has been issued to the defaulters for urgent installation, falling which suitable action shall be initiated as per relevant section of Law.
