Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DC & DEO), Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS accompanied by Superintendent of Police Aotula T. Imchen, IPS and Returning Officer for 37th Tyui A/C held a coordination meeting on Sunday at the office of Extra Assistant Commissioner, Chukitong with chairmen and members of Village Councils, GBs, senior citizens, youth organisations and various civil societies of Chukitong range to discuss the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming election, the DPRO has informed.

During the meeting, the DC & DEO appealed to the leaders of Chukitong area for their co-operation with law enforcement agencies and government departments. Ranjan also urged all the citizens to abide by the law to ensure that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly election can be conducted in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere.

According to the statement, the DC also called upon all the citizens of the district to create an atmosphere such that all voters can freely come out on the polling day and exercise their franchise in a democratic manner.
To his appeals, the leaders of Chukitong range and civil society organisations reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful, free and fair elections and expressed their full support in this endeavour.
