Wokha DC tells contractors, NH officials not to compromise on quality of work along NH 2

Wokha: District Administration tells contractors and NH officials to report any incident of reclamation along ROW or encroachment at sites of compensated land/area

Wokha District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS carried out an inspection along NH-2 on 3 July 2023 to ensure that the quality of works is maintained and also to ensure that there is no encroachment or hindrance in the process of implementing the ongoing construction of the road along the National Highway (NH-2, 72.4 Km to 83 Km). DIPR informed.

The DC was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Wokha, Aotula T. Imchen, National Highway officials, SDO (C) and Contractors in the inspection of the ongoing construction of road along NH-2.

District Administration, and Police supported by the NH officials have been conducting eviction drives over the last one month at several locations to ensure the effective execution of road construction and removal of encroachments over the NH compensated land. District Administration conveyed to the contractors and the National Highway officials to report any incident of reclamation along the ROW (right of way) or encroachment at the sites of the compensated land/area to District Administration so that timely necessary action is initiated.

The DC instructed the contractors and the National Highway Officials not to compromise with the specification of works along the said road/stretch and to carry out rectification works on a priority basis.

The DC has also directed them to submit weekly reports to District Administration in regard to the progress of works to ensure proper implementation of all the works.
