Wokha District Planning and Development Board met on Tuesday at Deputy Commissioner Conference hall, Wokha where the members deliberated and recommended to the State Government for approval for setting up of Khelo India Centre for Archery at Mt. Tiyi College Wokha.
The meeting was conducted by the Vice Chairman and DC Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS. The board believed that an archery centre would further develop and promote sports activities in the district.
The members of the DPDB also discussed on installation of separate power transformer for Wokha District Hospital and entrusted the concerned department, Health & Family Welfare, to earnestly pursue the matter for an early installation for the benefit of all.
Various department submitted action plan for the four selected aspirational village, one each from the four assembly constituencies.
Advisor Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan and Chairman DPDB Wokha, urged all the department that implementation of various schemes and projects should not be only paper presentation, but should be implemented in the letter and spirit for the benefit of the district.
The board also welcomed the new members, Principal Mt. Tiyi College Dr K Neshina Nekha, CMO Dr Zuben Kikon and AGM NST Veluozonuo Keditsu.
Later in the day, Mhathung Yanthan accompanied by the DPDB members visited the ongoing Tribal Artisan Mela organised by the TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India at Tiyi Hall, Wokha and interacted with the officials and artisans who has come to exhibit their products.
The Advisor thanked the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Skill Development department for giving opportunity to the artisans of the district to exhibit their products and stated that it should be a continuous process to benefit the artisans of the district.
