The Wokha Forest Division celebrated its 40th Foundation Day today at Forest Colony Community Hall, Wokha. The forest division was created in 1984.
The programme was attended by representatives of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Wokha Town Council, Lotha Eloe Hoho, FNGO Natural Nagas, and officers and staff from both the Wokha Forest Division and Doyang Plantation Division.
Speaking on the occasion, Suman WM Sivachar, IFS, DFO Wokha Forest Division and Doyang Plantation, congratulated all staff of Wokha Forest Division. He lauded their efforts and contributions to the Department while highlighting the achievements and the hardships the Division has witnessed since inception.
The DFO also noted the significant benefits the Department as well District can achieve with collaborative coordination and participation from both Lotha Community as well as the Department. Further, he assured to provide full potential to work for the community.
Rajiv Shankar, IFS, ACF, Wokha, congratulated the officers and staffs for all the achievements on the 40th Foundation Day and also encouraged them to continue to contribute and provide best effort for the betterment of the Department and the District.
Thungbeni, President, Eloe Hoho, also extended her congratulations to the Department and also requested the DFO and his team to continue giving their best for the community as long as they are in the District.
Mhao Ngullie, Councilor, Wokha Town Council, lauded the Department for all the efforts the Wokha Forest Division has been rendering to the District in general, and the Lotha community in particular. He also stressed that together along with the Department, Wokha Town Council will work hand in hand for the betterment of the citizens and give best benefits to the community.
The event was marked with extensive highlights of the activities and success, initiatives and developmental interventions carried out by the Wokha Forest Division in the District.
The pipping ceremony of promoted staffs, namely, Myinthungo Yanthan, Forester-1, Yihamo Ngullie, Forester-1, and Lanuakum Ao, Forester-1 was organised on the occasion.
Myinthungo Yanthan, Forester-1, Abeno Ovung, Planning and Livelihood Expert, Wokha DMU, and Mhonchumo Tungoe, retd. Peon, were also recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Department.
The Department also acknowledged retired officers and staffs, Wopansao Patton, retd. Range Forest Officer, and Liremo Kithan, Forester-2, for their significant service, while Late Imsenwapang, Dy. Range Forest Officer and Late Kethotsol, Forester -2, who had passed away recently, were also remembered.
Cake cutting ceremony in commemoration of the 40th Foundation Day of Wokha Forest Division was held. The program was chaired by Elithung Odyuo, ACF, I/C Baghty Range, and vote of thanks delivered by Siechutho Katiry, ACF cum ADMU, Merapani Range.
